Who is the Man of Sin? I’ve covered possibilities in some previous videos. Today, let’s explore the possibility of one of the sons of Jacob who later became the father of the twelve tribes of Israel. One such suspect is Dan.

This person has been known throughout the ages as "the little horn." We have long been convinced that this expression refers to none other than the Antichrist.

In Daniel 7: 7-8 we read, "After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts which were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things."

This refers to the rise of "the little horn" within the bounds of the Roman Empire; that is what is represented by the "fourth beast." The first thing said of the little horn is that he has eyes like the eyes of man, which speak of intelligence, and a mouth speaking great things -- the Heb. word signifies "very great," and the reference is, no doubt, to his lofty pretensions and his daring blasphemies.

In Daniel 8: 23-24 the Little Horn is the same dread personage as in chapter 7. First, he is referred to as "a king of fierce countenance" in agreement with Daniel 7:20 "whose look was more-stout than his fellows". It is said that he "shall destroy the mighty and the holy people", which agrees with "and the same horn made war with the saints and prevailed against them" Daniel 7:21. There should, then, be no doubt whatever that the "little horn" of Dan.7 and the "little horn" of Dan.8 refer to one and the same person. Both passages tell how the little horn will persecute the people of YHWH.

Many scholars agree that the "little horn" of Dan.7 and 8 and the Man of Sin is one and the same person. Daniel 11:36: And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. The Vile Person is expressly termed a "king!"

Erika grey explains why Dan is a contender as the Vile Person/Little-Horn in her article, “The Antichrist Rises from the Tribe of Dan”. First, let’s explore his life. Rachel, the wife of Jacob was both beautiful and like most Biblical patriarchs had her area of sin. Rachel could not have any children and became jealous of her sister Leah who bore Jacob four sons while she sat childless.

She became angry at Jacob and blamed him for her childless state. In Rachel’s jealousy she grabbed her maid Bilhah, and gave her to Jacob as a surrogate to have children for her, and Bilhah bore Dan. Jealous rivalry continued between Rachel and Leah. Rachel’s maid bore a second son to her: Naphtali.

When Jacob left the home of his father-in-law, Rachel stole his idols and lied to her father as he searched for them so that he would not find them. She also kept this secret from her husband Jacob who did not know that she had stolen the idols from her father.

Rachel’s attachment to the idols was so great that she stole them and lied to protect them. No doubt she was thrilled over the birth of Dan and doted over him and he followed in her the area of her idolatry. Judges Chapters 17 and 18 tells the story of Micah an idolater who lived in the mountains of Ephraim and who employed a renegade, idolatrous priest.

Dan and 600 of his men went searching the land for an area to settle in and came upon Micah’s house. They forcibly took his idols and his priest to serve them. They then went into Laish took the land by murdering its inhabitants, renamed it Dan and set up Micah’s idol and employed idolatrous priests to serve them until their captivity.

Dan set up idolatry in defiance of Israel’s God. In Scripture currency is synonymous with idolatry. The image of Micah was made from money that the mother of a boy saved for the purpose of making it into an idol, which ended up in Micah’s home. There are Biblical examples of currency being turned into idols, these are all forerunners of the image and number of the Beast including Micah’s idol.

King Jeroboam, Israel’s northern kingdom’s first king who the Bible mentions over and over as “the man who caused Israel to sin,” placed two golden calves, which he set up for idolatrous worship. He placed one in Bethel and the other in Dan, which both lay on the extreme southern and northern part of the kingdom. (I Kings 29-30) Bethel afterwards became a center for idolatry. Dan already existed as one, which is why Jeroboam placed a calf there.

In Amos, which foretells Israel’s captivity, in Amos 8:14 God’s declares judgment on Dan for its allegiance to its false gods. The Bible well establishes the idolatry of the tribe of Dan. This is one reason it is not mentioned among the 12 tribes in Revelation chapter 7 and is the lineage of the Antichrist. The Antichrist sets himself up as a god in the Jewish Temple and his beast as an idol, which he causes the false prophet to worship and commits the ultimate idolatry and abomination.

There is another reason Dan is not among the twelve tribes of Israel. Genesis 49:16 tells us that Dan shall judge his people as one of the tribes of Israel. The word used for judge means to act as a judge, minister judgment, requite, vindicate, govern, contend, strive, to be at strife, quarrel. Dan will judge his people meaning that the Antichrist will come from the tribe of Dan and will cause them the greatest hardship by acting as a judge for his people causing their judgment.

Genesis 49: 17 continues, “Dan shall be a serpent by the way and adder in the path that bites the horse’s heels so that its rider shall fall backward. When we think of the serpent, we think of the Devil who tempted Eve. Dan is a type of Devil whose idolatrous ways will influence the rest of the tribes of Israel in having them fall backwards into idolatry and its lies vs. their allegiance to the God of Israel. This is Satan’s work in Israel and through the ages among the Gentiles.

Jeremiah 8:16, which prophesizes about the last days states, “The snorting's of his horses were heard from Dan. The whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones: For they have come and devoured the land and all that is in it, the city and those who dwell in it.” In the same context Chapter 17 continues, “For behold I will send serpents among you, Vipers which cannot be charmed. And they shall bite you, says the Lord.”

This is the fulfillment back to the prediction that Dan will judge his people and his being a serpent by the way and is talking about the Antichrist’s siege of Israel during the Tribulation. Biblical contrasts of Jesus and the Antichrist are as such: Jesus rises from the tribe of Judah and the Antichrist from the tribe of Dan. Both Jesus and the Antichrist are symbolized by lions, with Jesus being the pride lion and the Antichrist the scavenger lion.

Both Jesus and Dan are referred to as a “lion’s whelp” in Scripture and is also found in Genesis 49:9 for Judah and Deuteronomy 33:22 for Dan. Both are Jews; and while the TRUE Messiah comes from the tribe of Judah, the false Messiah comes from the tribe of Dan. Jesus stated that He came in his father’s name and was NOT received, but one coming in his own name will be received. John 5: 43. So, where is this tribe of Dan today?

Furthermore, the Tribe of Dan as mentioned in Joshua 19:40-48 had been divided into three (or more) different sections. One section had been in the northern Galilee and neighbored Gad. Later part of this section moved with other Israelites to Scythia. The Damnae in Serica (east of Scythia), were also called "Dingling" and were linked to the "DANGALAI" whose name means "DAN-OF-GALILEE". They had been neighbors of the Goths (from Gad) of Gadrosia in Ancient Eastern Iran.

The DAMNAE of Scythian Serica were named similarly to the DAMNONII of Scotland (who lived besides the northern River DON of Scotland) and the DAMNONES of DANNONIA which was the name given to Devon and Cornwall. DANNONIA in Britain was named after the Tribe of DAN. The Tribe of Dan was recalled in the Children of DON in Welsh legend and the Tribe of DANA ("Tuatha de Danaan:) who came to the British Isles (according to Irish tradition) from the Land of Israel via Greece and Scandinavia.

The area Damnonia in southern Britain as well as being alternatively called Dannonia was also known as "Defenia". The name "DEFENIA" is similar to that of DAPHNIA which was the former place of DAN in the Galilee in the Land of Northern Israel. "Daphne" or "Defenia" is also a name associated by the Talmud with the Lost Ten Tribes.

In Scotland the Damnonii (of Dan) adjoined the Gadeni probably of Gad. Somewhat to the south (in Northern England) according to Ptolemy was the city of Danum which area was later to be occupied by Danes from Denmark. In this case we see the possibility of a group of Celtic culture descended from Dan who gave their name to the city of Danum being followed by Scandinavians who were also descended from Dan and settling in the same area.

Danes from Dan were recorded together with the Naphtali in Scythia. From Scythia the Danes (moving via Sweden) conquered Denmark. The Danes and the Norwegians formed the Vikings who invaded England. The Danes settled in the northeast of England and the Norwegians in the northwest. They also conquered and settled in Ireland and in parts of Scotland.

Danes from the Israelite Tribe of Dan invaded Denmark at about the same time as the Naphtali; and both clans moved in large numbers into Norway. The Tribe of Dan was represented by a snake or by a lion. Other accepted symbols of Dan were a pair of scales, an eagle, and a dragon. Many members of Dan settled in Denmark, in Ireland, in Wales, England, and the U.S.A. where 40-50 million people have Irish ancestry. The symbol of a snake was once worshipped in Ireland; a lion represents Denmark and England, Wales has a dragon on its flag, and the U.S.A. has an eagle. The Son of DAN, "Hushim" (Genesis 46:23) was also called Shuham (Numbers 26:42).

Hesse in north Germany represented Hushim. Shuham may be found in the "Suehani" who were found in Sweden. The Danes themselves are considered to have been the “Suehani”. It is noticeable that quite often the Tribes of Naphtali and Dan; both sons of the Biblical Jacob and the handmaiden of Rachel named Bilhah were interwoven and that both clans appear to have been present in the Scythian Naphtalite group.

The Coat of Arms of Iceland includes: A dragon, which was one of the symbols of Dan. A vulture, which in Hebrew is given the same name as eagle which was another one of the symbols of Dan. The country of Ireland has a harp on its Coat of Arms. The harp is traditionally associated with King David of Judah and Israel. The land of Iceland historically has been associated with Norway and Denmark in which countries especially Denmark the Tribe of Dan made a significant contribution.

Peoples of Dan are found around all rivers associated with the Scyths; for instance, the Danube River. The peoples of Dan are associated with the land dwellers of Iran, Scythia and lands from Lebanon Israel to Ireland, Wales, Scotland, South-West Britain, and Denmark, Sweden, Finland, the Franks in Germany, and Ireland.

… and today, one of those such people recently became a king with a little “k”.
